mybrainsheet.com is a free tool that generates printable nursing brain sheets, also called nurse report sheets. You describe your unit, patient load and shift in plain words, and it builds a print-ready sheet for them that you can then edit field by field.
Most brain sheets a nurse can find are static PDFs built for somebody else's unit. They assume a patient count you don't have, leave out the box you need, and can't be changed without opening a design app. So nurses end up photocopying a senior nurse's sheet, or redrawing one by hand at the start of every shift.
The idea here is simple: generate a sheet that already fits your assignment, then let you change anything on it. An ICU nurse with two patients and four drips needs a different page than a med-surg nurse with six, and both should be able to print theirs in under a minute.
mybrainsheet.com is made by Lost River Ventures LLC, a small independent software company, and built by Connor Driscoll. I'm a software developer, not a nurse. The clinical details on these sheets, the section names, the assessment order, what belongs on an ICU sheet rather than a postpartum one, come from published report-sheet conventions and from what nurses tell me.
If something is wrong, or just isn't how your unit works, the feedback button is on every page. Those notes are what make the sheets better.
There are no accounts and no signup. Sheets you save are stored in your own browser using local storage, not on a server, which is why they show up on the device you made them on and not anywhere else. Nothing you type into a sheet is uploaded.
Two exceptions worth being clear about. Share links encode the sheet's contents into the URL itself, so a link you send carries whatever is written on that sheet. And the site uses Google Analytics to count things like how many sheets get generated and printed; those events carry layout facts only (specialty, patient count, orientation) and never the text you type.
Please don't type patient information into it. The tool is for building a blank sheet you fill in by hand after report.

A brain sheet is a nurse's personal working document. It is not part of the legal medical record, it doesn't replace charting in your facility's system, and this site gives no clinical guidance of any kind. Nothing here overrides your facility's policies, your unit's handoff standard, or your own judgment. Follow your employer's rules about what may be written on a personal worksheet and how it must be disposed of.
Use the feedback button on any page. It reaches me directly, an email address is optional, and requests that make the tool better on a real unit get built first.
